Review
Theseus: Return of the Hero is an action game developed by the Sigma Team. The Sigma team is famous for its third-person action games such as Alien Shooter and Zombie Shooter. Theseus can be seen as the Free version of Alien Shooter. Is it worse than Alien Shooter? Not really: the graphics and controls are the same. You even have the same configuration options as in Alien Shooter. The game's story is just different. You are Theseus and you arrive at an Easter European town. However, it is infested with Aliens. You are a big though guy so you take matters on your own hands. The game is understandably smaller than Alien Shooter, with only 10 missions available. The missions are mostly in open spaces. This is how the Sigma Team started to experiment with open spaces on their engine. They have a few camera issues but the angles are overall good. You also have the same 3 types of gameplay: campaign, survival and stand firm modes. During the Campaign mode, you can start to upgrade Theseus, giving him better equipment, abilities and weapons. It makes you feel when you are progressing in the game. The game effects are great; it is just amazing to grab a minigun and blast hordes of aliens away. The game suffers from the same camera problems as Alien Shooter. And yes, the game might be similar to AS, but the great thing about this is that it's free. Alien Shooter is a great game, and Theseus is also a great game. You shouldn't miss the opportunity of playing it. |
